Excellent pub, obviously loved by the locals who booked it out - so make sure you have a reservation. 6.30 seems to be when they all flock in. Our table was for 7pm so we ended up having a bit of a wait and to make an alternative choice for mains as ours was sold out. Well kept cellar - excellent beers and plenty of cocktails available. Will return when next in York

The service was exemplary. Waitress was very informative about the menu and very helpful and welcoming. The added bonus was that as we attended on a Sunday we had the best Sunday lunch we have had for a long time.

The place has a perfect atmosphere, the staff is very excellent, interesting and charming, everything here is fresh and creative. Mirchiz has a good supplier, the food is of high standard, the appetizers and main courses are delicious. The curry was delicious, my friend and I ordered lamb curry and chicken curry, and drinking here can also let the staff open you wine but there is a charge for the wine.
